Hello, I am Annie and this is my Hygge & Cwtch blog created in Wales and inspired by the Danish hygge (pronounced hoo-gah) way of life. I believe a lot of goodness flows from choosing to live in the moment and take things simple and slow. We all need a bit of time and space to relax, take comfort and enjoy the good things in life with good people. I believe connecting with nature's beauty and nurturing power and indulging in moments of everyday joy is a true tonic.
While tastes change and trends come and go, there are some stories and interior design tips which are forever relevant, year after year. Some even become more appropriate as the years go on as mindsets shift and the importance of ‘home’ changes. So as we move into the new year, we thought we’d take a […]
It’s quite rare for us to talk about interior design trends here at Hygge & Cwtch. We very much subscribe to the ethos of a beautiful home is a happy and content one. Our passion is to make beautiful spaces which enhance and aid our happiness and wellbeing at home. Achieving this is very much […]
There’s nothing quite like the final two months of the year. Wrapping up against the cold air. Wet welly walks. Christmas shopping. Festive celebrations. School plays. Muddy football matches. An abundance of reasons to go out and connect with people and with nature. But with that, comes an unrivalled yearning for a warm, cosy sanctuary. […]
One of our key values here at Hygge and Cwtch, and one that we strive to achieve in every single project we work on, is putting connection at the heart of everything. Connection to nature. Each of these projects have helped us to develop and hone a signature interior style. Not something that we intentionally set out to […]
It’s the quiet time of year. After the festive madness and before the world starts waking up again for the first days of Spring. We tend to retreat to our homes to restore our energy for the year ahead, to allow ourselves to think and set some intentions for the long term. If there was […]
The start of a new year is a great time for resetting the mind and making moves to put ourselves on track for a positive start to the year. So for our first post of 2023, we’re going to share with you a couple of ways of doing this in the home along with our […]
With the colder weather drawing in, it’s natural for us to retreat into our homes and spend less time outdoors. Our favourite time to embrace everything we love the most about our homes, it’s the most hygge time of year! However, spending more time indoors means we can lose some of the benefits of being […]

A simple sense of calming, cosiness and contentment. A feeling that we want our blog readers to achieve […]
