Popular right now

While tastes change and trends come and go, there are some stories and interior design tips which are forever relevant, year after year. Some even become more appropriate as the years go on as mindsets shift and the importance of ‘home’ changes.

So as we move into the new year, we thought we’d take a look back at our 2023 interior blog posts – all of which are carefully created for our Hygge & Cwtch readers – and revisit our top three posts which still seem most relevant today. The stories we’d tell again and the tips that we’d be just as keen to share with in 2024.

Home Storage

Probably the most time appropriate interior blog post that we wrote last year. January is famous for being the month of staying home. And with that comes a need and an opportunity to get organised. Finding homes for new Christmas gifts. Sorting and homing clutter that has built up over the year. But the question is, where to put it all and how to make it work, and look good, in your home. Our Planning Your Perfect Home Storage post takes a look at why good storage is so important to our wellbeing at home and what options are available so you can plan and make intentional, practical changes to your home.

Sustainable Homes

The importance of sustainability is only becoming greater. This isn’t a trend, this is a lifestyle choice for those people who want to take action and care for the environment, starting at home. We give our top five interior design tips for creating a more sustainable home. What to look out for when shopping, which brands are doing it well and how to begin this practice before you even buy a single item. It was an important one last year, it’s important this year. Looking after our planet through interior design is always going to be an important message for Hygge & Cwtch to share.

3. Informal design for our wellbeing

Our most recent post that is well worth a revisit, is all about Informality in Design. This made our list of Intentional Interior Design Trends for 2024 as ‘Undone Interiors’, as we believe this concept is going to take off in 2024. Our wellbeing should be at it’s peak when we’re in our own homes. But this can only truly happen when our homes are authentic and honest. Prioritising that bring us joy and make us smile at every turn. No show homes or ‘perfect’ schemes. It’s about prioritising comfort, finding your personal style preferences, taking a pick and mix approach to your interior design choices which put personal treasures front and centre in your home. It’s an interesting concept which turns the classic understanding of interior design on it’s head. Well worth a read, even if we do say so ourselves!
