Hello, I am Annie and this is my Hygge & Cwtch blog created in Wales and inspired by the Danish hygge (pronounced hoo-gah) way of life. I believe a lot of goodness flows from choosing to live in the moment and take things simple and slow. We all need a bit of time and space to relax, take comfort and enjoy the good things in life with good people. I believe connecting with nature's beauty and nurturing power and indulging in moments of everyday joy is a true tonic.
So here we are, festivities in full swing and another year almost complete! It’s the time of year when the craziness of Christmas ramps up around us, while nature is telling us to slow down, retreat and rest. December can be a conflicting, exhausting month if we allow it to be. But more than ever, […]
As the seasons swing around, so too do the seasonal colour palettes. Think icy whites and berry reds for Winter. Soft floral pastels in Spring and beachy shades for Summer. And of course Autumn brings us the greens and oranges of the spectacular show put on by the trees at this time of year. All […]
Earlier this month, I hit pause on Autumn and jetted off to the stunning island of Madeira for a few days. A much needed break with friends to enjoy all that the island has offer and feel the warmth of the sun one last time before we throw ourselves head first into the hygge season […]

We’ve got that new season feeling here at Hygge & Cwtch Design Studio. March brings the early blooms, the longer days and lighter nights. That undeniable sense of optimism for a bright and sunny season ahead. With these feelings of change and excitement, we always look for new ways to enjoy our home and to […]
While tastes change and trends come and go, there are some stories and interior design tips which are forever relevant, year after year. Some even become more appropriate as the years go on as mindsets shift and the importance of ‘home’ changes. So as we move into the new year, we thought we’d take a […]
It’s quite rare for us to talk about interior design trends here at Hygge & Cwtch. We very much subscribe to the ethos of a beautiful home is a happy and content one. Our passion is to make beautiful spaces which enhance and aid our happiness and wellbeing at home. Achieving this is very much […]
There’s nothing quite like the final two months of the year. Wrapping up against the cold air. Wet welly walks. Christmas shopping. Festive celebrations. School plays. Muddy football matches. An abundance of reasons to go out and connect with people and with nature. But with that, comes an unrivalled yearning for a warm, cosy sanctuary. […]

Connection to ourselves. And connection with others. It’s essential to our wellbeing at home yet is something that we can […]
